Now THIS was a fun photo session! It’s taken me a while to blog this but here it is! Not only had it snowed like crazy, but this was a mixed family/maternity session that included a very adventurous mama and a very energetic little boy. This was the 3rd time I had photographed this soon-to-be big brother and every time we have more fun than the time before. As we walked to this snowy location, my little buddy said to his dad, “I love Darla.” OMG, I swear you could have heard my heart melt into a puddle right then and there. I *heart* photographing children.
We had a total blast running in the snow, laughing and chasing after the little man. I always try to capture families in their natural state, where they genuinely interact with each other. Granted, I always include posed images as well, but my favourite are where you can hear the laughter by just looking at a portrait. True connection is the best!
We did the main family portion of this session first, ensuring we got lots of images with the little man. Once he tapped out and lost interest (because every child has their own internal time limit), we got to have some real maternity fun. Despite the freezing cold and goosebumps galore, this gorgeous mama braved wearing this dress. And boy am I glad she did. Because seriously….just LOOK at these portraits! Totally and completely stunning!!!!! I love it when my clients are the most incredible models. It really makes my job easy!
I can’t wait to photograph this new arrival when he is ‘earth-side.’ Lol. And I secretly hope he looks just like his big brother.
