You might ask, “Why an empty bucket prop?” To the people with empty arms and hearts that long to hold a baby of their own someday….this empty prop is for you.
April 21 – April 27 is National Infertility Awareness week and Newborn photographers across the world are sharing #bucketsofhope
As a newborn photographer, my studio is filled with adorable babies and this empty prop symbolizes not only the emptiness that those with infertility often feel, but is also a symbol of hope. Hope for all of those families waiting for their baby to come. 1 in 8 experience infertility and 1 in 4 have experienced a loss. Infertility affects all parties involved. Please know, You are not alone.
To those of you who have struggled for years…to those who have spent tens of thousands on IVF…to those who are asked constantly, “When are you having kids,”….to those who have negative pregnancy tests one after the other. I SEE YOU. I HEAR YOU. You are not alone.
I myself, have had two miscarriages so I understand how it feels when someone announces they are pregnant. Honestly, it feels like a kick to the gut with steel-toed boots and something I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. I think we as humans just need to change our narrative and to be more sensitive when discussing babies, pregnancy and “trying” for pregnancy. We should all be aware how our language can deeply affect others. Open your hearts to others as they share their struggles, be kind to those who are hurting and know this is SO common.
If you feel inclined, please share your story below in the comments because we all deserve to know we are not alone.
Sending you all the Love & Light in the world.
