I had the pleasure of photographing this happy bunch at Douglas Taylor Park in Abbotsford. The fall colours were just starting to come out and I knew it was a perfect day for a stunning family session. These four kids and their Great Dane sure made for a memorable shoot! I think I spent more time just following them around with my camera shooting, than I did guiding and posing. But then again, there is something really beautiful and powerful in candid, interactive photos. Often, those the images displayed on the walls of my client’s homes. In all reality, they are my favourite kind of image.
As usual, there were giggles and snuggles, a few time outs, a snack break and even a quick play session. Kids often need short breaks to recompose during sessions, and I’m quite happy to oblige. In the end, I just want beautiful images for my clients, so I’ll do whatever it takes!
Some of my favourite images from this shoot are of the twin girls loving on each other. Sibling love is beautiful, but twin love is incredibly special. The girls were just so sweet together. And let’s not forget the sisters with their newborn brother! Because really, look at how special their bond is with him! I recall taking photos of them together and then looking up at mom & dad saying, “OH MY GOSH YOU GUYS!” There was no need to pose the kids because they just naturally did their thing. In the end, it was cuteness over load. So much cute!
I had just done baby brother’s newborn photos in my Abbotsford studio a few days earlier! (You can check out those photos here!) But, nothing compares to getting the whole family together for a beautiful session. I mean, just look at them! Doesn’t your heart want to explode?!? Seriously.
