With the recent dump of snow we just had in Abbotsford, I took my daughter and her BFF out for a winter playdate. And of course I brought my camera along. Because when these two little snow bunnies get giggling, I just have to capture the memory. Every year I make an album for my kids that shows all the events of their entire year. It’s my way of scrapbooking because I literally have no time for that shenanigans. I create a gorgeous leather or linen bound album (using the same professional lab I order products from for my clients) and my kids just eat them up. Often, I find my daughter sitting in her bed, leafing through the pages. It’s a pretty special thing. So of course these portraits will make it into the 2018 album.
In BC the snow hardly ever sticks. It always rains before we get a chance to throw on the old winter gear and play. So while the snow stuck around, I took the girls out and just let them do their 8 year old thing. They giggled, threw snowballs, ran around with the dog and just had a plain ol’ good time. And I was there to capture it. Now, looking at these photos, I’m so glad I took a break from my everyday life just to see the world through these girl’s eyes. Winter and snow is magical…but never more magical than when your children enjoy it.
